P'an-Chin-Lien

The Chinese Goddess of prostitutes. As a mortal, she was a widow who was much too liberal and inventive with her favors, and her father-in-law killed her. In death she was honored by her more professional associates and eventually became the goddess of whores.

Baklava Cups

1 (2 1/8oz) box frozen miniature phyllo cups
2/3 c. chopped mixed nuts
1-2 tsp. sugar
1/4 c. honey
1 tsp. water

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Place the shells on a baking sheet. Mix the sugar and chopped nuts and fill the shells. Bake for 8 minutes or until the shells are lightly browned.
3. Mix the honey and water in a small bowl and drizzle over the nuts. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Cortigiana Onesta

In Italy, known as honest courtesans, the cortigiana onesta were usually well-educated and worldly (sometimes even more so than the average upper-class woman), and often held simultaneous careers as performers or artists. They were typically chosen on the basis of their "breeding"--social and conversational skills, intelligence, common sense, and companionship--as well as their physical attributes. It was usually their wit and personality that set them apart from regular women. They were prostitutes in the sense that sex was one of their obligations, but unlike the average prostitute, sex constituted only a facet of the courtesan's array of services. For example, they were expected to be well-dressed and ready to engage in a variety of topics ranging from art to music to politics.

Cool Stuff

Today we take a look at that breaker of banks: cool stuff. From gnome soap to the Ghostbuster's car, this stuff makes you crave ownership. Money can't buy happiness, but it does get you the stuff that makes you smile.

A huge selection of scents for sale!	This amazing aluminum case is fully functional as a briefcase with compartments for files, business cards, pens and even a cell phone. The bonus, is that the case comes with a 14 piece fully functional bar set included!	I realize this is a bit late, but it's still droolworthy: Dell's concept LCD unvieled at CES 2007.
I simply adore this! Part of the Plastic Fantastic series, a uniquely styled indoor and outdoor furniture collection, upholstered with a special Soft Skin® rubber coating and available in any RAL color... that's right: PLASTIC!!!	The "lucky gnome" is formed from an antique soap mold from the early 1900's and is a lucky talisman as well as a delight at bath time.	The green-minded folks over at Duo-Gard are integrating that disco-inspired action we all know and love into its translucent paneling.

MIT has released some new images of its $100 laptop prototype, of which it hopes to have 5 to 15 million test units within the year. The 'anubis' is the modern version of a canopic jar- perfect for holding the little essences of life.
